A large soap cake cost 25 cents and a medium cake 10 cents. A box of six cakes was 55 cents.
Cashmere Bouquet soap had been around for three generations when this add appeared. Accompanying sell copy described the fragrance as "delicate, yet lasting; piquant, yet refined; reminiscent, yet elusive."
The Colgate company was founded in 1806. In 1928 it was acquired by Palmolive and today the company is known as Colgate-Palmolive.
