Refrigerator magnet pictures a vintage advertisement for Seaforth mens toiletries.  Accompanying sell copy highlighted a choice of a shaving mug, shaving lotion, talcum powder, liquid deodorant, hair dressing, cologne, hand soap or liquid shaving soap for $1, a "brushless shave" for $.60 and gift sets for $2-7.

Seaforth was manufactured by the Alfred D McKelvy Company of NY.  Reportedly Alfred McKelvy was a former advertising copywriter with BBD&O who put up a small stake to start his company around 1935.  He married one of his employees, Doryee Kellerman, who helped him build Seaforth.  The pair later founded an oil wildcatting company, McKelvy Oil, and speculated in California real estate.

McKelvy sold Seaforth to Vick Chemical in 1941 or 1943 but remained on for a time as president and general manager.  According to a 1944 interview with McKelvy, Seaforth then employed 200 workers.
