Magnet pictures a 1915 advertisement for the slide-action repeating Remington 22 Rifle. The ad promotes the model as a good starting weapon for young men. Accompanying text (omitted because it was too small to be readable on a magnet) pointed out that it was fitted with the Remington-UMC solid breech and handled fifteen .22 short, or twelve .22 long or eleven .22 long rifle cartridges. Readers were invited to ask their dealer to see an autoloading .22 model, as well as Remington-UMC cartridges.
The Remington Arms-Union Metallic Cartridge Company was located in the Woolworth Building at 233 Broadway in New York City.
