Magnet pictures Empress Isabella of Portugal (1503-1539).  Isabella was the daughter of King Manuel I of Portugal and his second wife, Maria of Castile and Aragon.  On her father's side was a long line of royalty and on her mother's was Isabella and Ferdinand of Spain.  Her marriage to her first cousin, the Holy Roman Emperor Charles V, was political and financial but they got on well enough that Isabella gave birth to six children by the time she was thirty five.  The last one was stillborn and Isabella died from the effort.  Of their five other children, two sons did not survive past infancy, two daughters married first cousins and the surviving son was Philip II of Spain.

Portrait pictured on magnet was produced in 1848 by Italian artist, Titian (c1488-1576) and is housed at the Prada Museum in Madrid.
