This magnet pictures Thomas Cromwell (1485-1540), Lord Cromwell of Wimbledon and chief minister to English King Henry VIII. Cromwell played an important role in devising strategies and arguments to support Henry's break with the Church of England. Like others drawn too close to Henry, however, Cromwell was executed. His big mistake was in not finding a woman who appealed to Henry. Portrait by Hans Holbein the Younger.
