Magnet pictures a facsimile of a Planters peanut butter advertisement from the 1950s. Planters was founded by the owner of a horse-drawn fruit cart in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. He purchased a peanut roaster, promoted himself as a peanut specialist and teamed up with a fellow who had developed a faster way to processing peanuts. By 1908 the pair had incorporated as the Planters nut and Chocolate Company and relocated to Virginia. In 1960 Planters was acquired by Standard Brands, who merged with Nabisco and was acquired in 2000 by Kraft Foods who merged with Heinz in 2015, creating the fifth largest food and beverage company in the world, known as the Kraft Heinz Company.
