Refrigerator magnet pictures a vintage advertisement for Mobil gasoline service stations, promoting Mobilgas as providing good mileage.

One of thirty three companies that grew out of the 1911 breakup of Standard Oil was named Socony, becoming Socony-Vacuum in 1931, Socony Mobil Oil in 1955 and Mobilgas in 1963 and Mobil in 1966.  In 1920 that company introduced the Mobiloil product line.  In 1999 it merged with Exxon to become ExxonMobil, headquartered in Spring, TX.   Wikipedia offers a nice overview of the Mobil company history.  The Mobil name is used in part of the country, Exxon elsewhere.
