This refrigerator magnet offers a montage of images featuring Charles Robert Darwin (1809-1882), including portraits of the naturalist, his home, early notations and most famous book, On the origin of Species. Darwin was an English naturalist and geologist. In 1831, intending to become a rural minister, he embarked on a 3-year scientific expedition on the HMS Beagle. Three years later, on October 2, 1836, when he disembarked in London he had instead become committed to the study of natural history. On the Origin of Species, completed in 1859, offered his theory of man's evolution from common ancestors.
